About this deal

Most models now include lower rails that (in theory) will catch on a stair edge and use friction to stop the walker's momentum before a disaster happens. The bottom does have the stair safety bumpers, but we advise you to never trust those and always make sure all doors and stairs are secured. When you're ready to watch your baby scoot around the floor, you can unlock the wheels (there are two switches to lock or unlock the front wheels) and it becomes a sit-in walker. It's a pretty big baby walker and takes up a decent amount of space; this is helped by the fact that it folds up for storage, but keep in mind that it does take up a lot of room on the floor. Note that Safety 1st also makes two additional baby walkers: first, the Safety 1st Ready Set Walk baby walker is very similar to this one and also doesn't have a replaceable battery.

A couple of notes here - be sure to remove the stickers on the rear-view mirrors, bring along a small Phillips head screwdriver for the battery door, and don't forget two AA batteries to make the turn signals and sounds work. The second issue with wooden walkers is wheel speed: it's really difficult to get the wheels to turn at a good speed. There is a lock to stop seat rotation, locks on the legs to prevent bouncing, and two locks to turn on the parking brake and disallow movement (by raising the front wheels off the floor). Below are some of the good and negative things we have gathered out from the parents who have actually bought this Vtech walker. When your little conductor gets older, the caboose converts into a wagon they can fill with toys and pull along to help develop gross motor skills. The front wheels pivoted but the rear ones do not, which is a bit limiting in terms of direction but we found it completely fine. There are adjustment straps on the seat so you can raise it up a bit (about an inch or two) as your baby grows taller. g., pressing a button and getting information about colors or shapes), the second is for encouragement (find the triangle! Think of it like a super low-rider car: any little pot-hole and you will be scraping the bottom of your car when your tire drops into the hole.

Second, while most sit-in baby walkers have an empty tray up front, this one packs a serious entertainment punch with its horn, dashboard, and blinkers. A practical tip regarding baby walkers is that your child will likely only need a walker for about a month or two as they learn to walk. Babies seem to be definitely very entertained by it, but my main criticism is that it is way too much happening. The wheels pop onto the bottom, the tray pops up from the bottom, and you need to attach the toy bar. Based on my analysis of the market, the Joovy Spoon Walker meets these criteria and is the top choice for parents. We tested it out with an 11-month-old who was just taking his first steps, and a 14-month-old who took her first steps a couple of months ago. Instead of having your baby sit inside the walker and roll around, this top-rated activity walker serves babies who have already learned to pull themselves up but haven't learned to walk independently. On the top, you have basic numbers 1,2, and 3 with the shapes like triangle, square and circle around them. Rest assured that as doctoral-level scientists, parents, and the owners of this small business, we have over 20 years of combined experience testing and reviewing over 2400 different baby and toddler products. Starting as a sit-in exersaucer, it has an adjustable height, swivel capability, bouncing (like a jumper, which you can disable), and tons of fun toys to explore.

But thanks to the lightweight of Vtech learning to walk toy, your little one will not feel any heavy load. Even though baby walkers are safer than ever before, please be sure that your house is baby-proofed before you let your baby loose in a new walker! Note that if you don't want the rolling walker part, but want a standing activity center that is very similar to this, VTech also makes an awesome Learning Table. The toy bar was the most challenging part of the assembly, as you need to carefully align the small protruding notches by twisting them to the side as you push them together. When we took it out of the packaging, we were surprised at two things: first, how lightweight it was (only about 12 pounds), and second, how it folded up into a pretty thin format that could slide right under the bed for storage. So… our verdict is that the Vtech sit-to-stand learning walker is safe to use, but some supervision is necessary.
