About this deal

I have now covered sixty-four miles with light use of the pedal-assist [setting 3 for start-off and mainly 0 or 1 for riding], with occasional use of 2 for gradients and headwinds. What may happen over time, is that a gap between the two sets of teeth develops, as a result of consistent torque from the weight of the clamped bike. This could ultimately lead to the teeth slipping, and a clamp that is unable to hold your bike as you’d like.

The overhead accessory bar includes two preinstalled utility hooks and features a utility track that can be used to install air hose reels, lights and more. Tyres are much more robust for our country roads than my road bike so another aspect that i really like.

As a rule of thumb two-legged work stands offer a little more stability under load, more room for pedal movement and usually a smaller footprint.

On the negative side, the fact that some parts are made from plastic, raises doubts over its long term durability. Quick-release clamp: holding the bike up with one hand and operating the clamp with the other can get tiring and the better clamps are always quicker to use. Registered office: Icknield Street Drive, Washford West, Redditch, Worcestershire, England, B98 0DE.

Most permanent options bolt to the floor, wall or bench, but you can also consider a big steel plate that enables you to move the repair stand, at least a little.

When not riding a bike, or talking about them, Tara listens to a lot of ska, punk, and emo music, and consumes too much social media. The vertical tube is canted slightly forward for increased pedal clearance while a bike is loaded on the stand, and it comes with a height-adjustable tray for keeping a few tools close at hand. It has a claimed bike weight limit of 80 pounds, meaning you should feel free to hoist most e-bikes up there, as long as you can lift them high enough to get to the clamp. If you don’t need a portable repair stand and you have either a suitable workbench or wall space, then a mounted repair stand could be a good option.

Really cheap bike stands may work well for the first few months, but they’re built with cheaper, weaker components that will ultimately break.
